Meeting notes (June 9)


Main convention: Provisionally, Saturday 1 October 2022 with possibility of associated events/activities leading up to this.


We’re planning to use three venues:
  • Town Hall (main venue)
  • An Lanntair (drum room for talks)
  • The Space @ Stornoway Library (workshops)


Everything is on the table at this stage – if you have more suggestions, let us know (but be quick - we’ll need to start thinking about scheduling/booking etc soon).

  • Board gaming
  • Cult movies
  • Green screen photography (Sradag Creative confirmed)
  • Nerf Wars (check sports centre and mainland nerf groups)
  • Cosplay Ceilidh/Afterparty
  • Cosplay competition (adult/children) with Cruinn and Boshan costume building workshops during September
  • Quiz (Friday evening before?)
  • VR gaming (Oculus/PS4 - library)
  • Warhammer/Miniatures painting (Kelvin)
  • Artist alley/gallery (local artists displaying comic work)

  • Sweatdrop Studios - Independent art/comics collaborative: comic artists and writers/comics workshops
  • Hex Studios - horror film production/distribution
  • Magic Torch Comics: Scottish-based comics company/workshops

We have a limited budget to fund activities. This has to be spent this year or it will be lost.
Main event will be free but ticketed. Some individual activities such as workshops may need to be separately ticketed. Probably use Eventbrite for this.
