OH!CON at Taigh Chearsabhagh

OH!CON comes to North Uist for the first time!

We're thrilled that Taigh Chearsabhagh are hosting two OH!CON workshops. Top artist, Kate Leiper, will be showing you how to draw your dragon, and comics genius, Paul Bristow, will help you create scary stories in your very own comic!

And that's not all! The Taigh Chearsabhagh office will be transformed into a comic den for the day. There'll be comfy cushions and a selection of illustrated novels to read, plus desk space and pens if you want to draw your own. This space will be available until 4pm, for anyone who fancies hanging out with fellow comic fans.

Paul BristowPaul Bristow writes comics, children's fiction, ghost stories and folktales, sometimes all at once.

Paul is the founder of Magic Torch Comics CIC, who work all over Scotland to help people tell stories using comics. Those stories have included moments from Scottish history, forgotten folklore and superhero epics – all created collaboratively with young people and a team of artists.

You can read some of those comics online for free, including the current project, Multiverse Academy, a year-long comic story created in community workshops.

See Outer Hebrides Heroes, the comic that Paul created with local schools for OH!CON 2022.
